Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Ability to give consent Voluntary signing of the consent form At least 18 years old Criminal Controls: no criminal history

Exclusion criteria: Acute suicidality Use of psychotropic medications, drugs/narcotics or other medications likely to affect cerebral function or blood flow within 3 weeks prior to study entry Psychotic symptoms MRI exclusion criteria (such as metal parts or electrical devices in or on the body, non-removable piercings, large tattoos, permanent makeup, current neurological diseases, current or previous seizure disorders (such as epilepsy), as well as brain diseases (e.g. hydrocephalus, brain tumor) or a history of severe head injury (craniocerebral trauma) and pronounced claustrophobia) Lack of understanding of German For women: pregnancy

Examination of the effectiveness of intermittent theta burst stimulation (iTBS) in reducing aggressive behavior and increasing empathie in criminal offenders by comparing TPJ and vertex (control site) stimulation through the observation of BOLD (blood oxygenation level dependent) signal changes as a reaction to the paradigms. Primary behavioral measures are measured using the Taylor Aggression Paradigm (TAP) and the Shock/Self-Shock/Other Task (SS-SO). Behavioral measures in the form of money-deduction and shock-administration are of interest. Additionally, hormonal markers and genetic material, as well as several neuropsychological and psychopathological tests will be collected. Paradigms in the Scanner: Shock/self-shock/other task (SS-SO) Taylor Aggression Paradigm (TAP) Measurements Day 1: -neuropsychological tests/psychopathological assessment -personality questionnaires -interviews -genetic classification via buccal mucosa sample -hormone analysis via saliva sample -MRI standard questionnaire -resting-state and anatomical measurements via MRI (3T Siemens) Day 2: -TMS (TPJ or vertex, three times for three minutes with 30 minute breaks inbetween) -continuation of the neuropsychological tests/psychopathological assessment - questionnaire regarding state empathy after the last stimulation -fMRI measurements (SS-SO, ca. 25 minutes und TAP, ca. 25 minutes) Day 3: -= 14 days later -TMS (opposite stimulation than on day 2) -continuation of neuropsychological tests/psychopathological assessment - questionnaire regarding state empathy after the last stimulation -fMRI measurements (SS-SO, ca. 25 minutes und TAP, ca. 25 minutes)
