Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria: Participating parents must be a parent or custodial primary caregiver with a parent-like attachment to the adolescent child. In addition, the following criteria must be met ? Age = 18 years ? Good knowledge of German (CMT language German) ? Custody of at least one child between the ages of 12 and 18 ? Lives with the child in the same household at least five days a week The following criteria must be met for young children of parents participating in the CMT to take part: ? Age between 12 and 18 years ? Parent or custodial primary caregiver with a parent-like bond participates in CMT

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: No exclusion criteria were defined for participation in the CMT. If a custodial person for the same adolescent child is already participating in the CMT, another custodial person can participate in the CMT, but not in the study.

With regard to feasibility and acceptance, it should be shown that CMT is easy to implement (1) and accepted (2) in these groups of parents.

Effects at the parent level: To examine whether participation in CMT leads to an increase in compassion for themselves (3a) and for other people (3b), for their own bodies (3c) and for body dissatisfaction in their adolescent children (3d) as well as a reduction in self-criticism (3e), empathic stress (3f) and dissatisfaction with their own bodies (3g) and criticism of their adolescent children's bodies (3h) in participating parents compared to parents in the waiting list control group. Effects at the child level: The indirect effects of CMT on the adolescent children will be investigated at the exploratory level. It will be examined whether participation in CMT leads to an increase in compassion for themselves (4a) and for other people (4b) as well as for their own bodies (4c) and to a reduction in dissatisfaction with their own bodies (4d) and perceived family pressure in the adolescent children of the participating parents compared to the adolescent children of the parents in the waiting list control group, to conform to an ideal body image (4e) and a decrease in the critical attitude of parents in interactions (4f), criticism of parents about their own body (4g) and criticism of parents about the body of adolescents (4h).
