Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: *Neurological long-term care patients * Functional equinus for more than 6 months * Limited range of motion in the upper ankle joint – ROM - Passive dorsiflexion maximum value with goniometer 0°, both in 0° and in 90° knee flexion - Active dorsiflexion maximum value with goniometer 0°, both in 0° and in 90° knee flexion
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: *Structural equinus (fixed contracture) * Previous knee or ankle surgery * Injuries to the musculoskeletal system that have not healed * Movement restrictions neutral-zero, e.g. extension/flexion at the knee < 0-0-100 * Rheumatic diseases

| The measurement with the goniometer represents the angle of the joints or the mobility and is shown as metrically scaled. Range of motion ROM in degrees: ? with the knee bent to 90° (actual joint mobility or muscle length of the soleus muscle) ? with the knee extended to 0° (muscle length of the gastrocnemius muscle) active and passive, unloaded, interval scaled in the direction of plantar and dorsiflexion in the upper ankle joint The measurements with the modified Tardieu scale are considered ordinal scales and represent the severity of the observation: Assessment of the spasticity (clonus) of the lower leg muscles (triceps surae muscle) and the range of motion ROM. | — |

| Pain intensity data will be collected as ordinal data using the Faces Pain Scale-Revised (FPS-R). FPS-R is used for people with poor language skills or dementia patients and records pain using six facial expressions. The scale will be used during the study period to assess the daily general condition and any effects regarding pain. | — |
