Group 1: All former preterm infants with very low birth weight (VLBW) born at the perinatal center in Ulm are offered a follow-up examination as part of clinical routine, which includes lung function

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: - VLBW infants born at the perinatal center Ulm at the age of 12 years - Control group: healthy control subjects at the age of 12 years
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: - No parental or caregivers´ consent. - Severe neurologic impairment that does not allow lung function and exercise capacity testing. - Severe congenital malformation according to the international classification (excluding inguinal hernia, PDA, atrial septal defects, ventricular septal defects and all congenital anomalies that do not affect pulmonary, cardiovascular and psychomotor capacities).
