| 1.) Characterization of the frailty status of older patients with kidney failure (KF) (both on the transplant waiting list and of potential recipients and donors presenting for planned living donation) 2.) Comparison of four different frailty instruments with regard to their prognosis: the Multidimensional Prognostic Index (MPI), the Cologne Robustness Index (CRI), the Clinical Frailty Scale (CFS) and the Fried criteria 3.) Identification of high-risk patients and those who are likely to benefit from a kidney transplant (on the donor and recipient side) 4.) Mapping the dynamic progression of frailty in KF patients and kidney transplant patients 5.) Identification of starting points of frailty that enable improvement of frailty through prehabilitation or rehabilitation in later intervention studies 6.) Identification of biomarkers of frailty concerning metabolomics, microbiomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, (epi-)genomics, nucleolar-size, micronutrients and immunosenescence that are associated with risk profiles 7.) Assessment of the course of older KF patients with regard to secondary outcomes such as transplantation, mortality, hospitalization, Patient Related Outcome Measures (PROMs) | — |
