Inclusion criteria: Ovarian carcinoma, exploratory laparotomy, consent to study

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Changes in the gastrointestinal microbiome compared between the groups using stool samples (analysis of 16S rRNA via next generation sequencing (NGS)) preoperatively, on day 3-5 after surgery and after 3 months.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
- Effects on patient outcome (parameters: occurrence and severity of postoperative complications (evaluation of clinical data, severity classification using the Clavien/Dindo classification), length of ICU stay, length of hospital stay) - Effects on the immune system (leukocyte populations: analysis via flow cytometry preoperatively, as well as postoperatively on day 1, day 3-5 (depending on stool sample collection date) and after 3 months)
