Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: all consecutive patients between 2013 and 2020, operated on the ascending aorta and/or the aortic arch, utilizing the common carotid artery as a sole arterial cannulation site

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Emergency surgery, critical preoperative state

Primary

MeasureTime frame
1) postoperative death from neurologic causes, 2) clinical stroke in follow up, 3) the fate of the cannulation site on the CCA in follow-up

MeasureTime frame
Identifying clinical factors for death and stroke in follow up.
