Group 1: Patients with acute ischemic stroke, diagnosed clinically and by imaging (CT or MRI) within 24 hours of symptom onset

18 Years to 90 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - Clinical and radiological diagnosis of acute ischemic stroke - Time between symptom onset or last asymptomatic contact and hospital admission <24h

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Malignant disease - Pre-existing disease of the central nervous system - NIHSS>20 points - Age >90 years
