Group 1: Patients undergoing a „total coronary revascularization via left anterior thoracotomy“ (TCRAT), not any sort of combined oder emergency surgery.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients undergoing TCRAT

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients receiving emergency or combined surgery and patients who do not have sufficient language capabilities.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Cognitive abilities measured via Montreal cognitive assessment (MoCA) and 6-item cognitive impairment test (6-CIT) after 3, 6 and 12 months in comparison with a baseline assessment.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Occurence of postoperative delirium and the consequences on further scoring in cognitive assessments after surgery.
