Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Written consent to participate in the study Age >18 years Inpatient withdrawal treatment due to alcohol dependence according to ICD-10 criteria

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Acute suicidal behaviour Acute psychotic disorder Lack of capacity to consent Severe withdrawal symptoms Pregnancy Presence of a defibrillator/pacemaker/brain stimulator Implantation of intracranial metals (e.g. plates, screws) Patients with an open skull, after skull trepanation Patients with skin damage at/near the stimulation sites
