Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Suspected diagnosis of stroke by the emergency services Discharge diagnosis of stroke

Exclusion criteria: none

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Number of patients correctly identified as having a stroke due to the emergency medical service by using FAST and FAST4D. All patients assigned with the patient assignment code 421, 422 or 423 and discharged as a stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA) are correctly identified as stroke.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Will FAST4D misclassify more patients as having a stroke? What is the sensitivity and specificity of the FAST4D? What is the difference in sensitivity between FAST and FAST4D? How is FAST4D implemented in the rescue service?
