Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| 28-day mortality | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| - Ventilator-free days - 90-day mortality - Influence of positioning maneuvers (e.g. clinically indicated prone positioning for severe ARDS) on ventilation and gas exchange Effects of innovative ventilation concepts such as variable variable pressure support ventilation (noisyPSV) and diaphragmatic EMG-triggered pressure support ventilation (Neurally Adjusted Ventilatory Assist-NAVA) on patient-ventilator synchrony, respiratory mechanics and gas exchange - Effects of the reduction in ventilation invasiveness through the use of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) on regional and global mechanical stress (stress/strain) - Identification of ventilator-associated risk factors for the development of delirium - Effect of clinically indicated changes in ventilator settings on respiratory mechanics, regional and global mechanical stress and hemodynamic parameters - Spatial ventilation distribution within the lung, regional recruitment, derecruitment and overdistension | — |
