Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - established diagnosis of ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease - diagnostic ileocolonoscopy with biopsies and subsequent initiation of a novel anti-inflammatory therapy

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - drugs, concomitant diseases or conditions that preclude the assessment of clinical response/remission
