Interventions

Group 1: Patients with anterior virus-associated uveitis are examined by optical coherence tomography-angiography. The eye affected by anterior uveitis is compared to the contralateral, healthy eye.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: confirmed diagnosis of virus-positive AU

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - refractive errors of the sphere or the cylinder more than -3.50 diopters - a history of other retinal diseases (diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration).

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
As a primary endpoint, we define differences between the affected eye and the healthy, contralateral eye in the macular, optic disc and peripapillary vessel area density of different layers, examined by optical coherence tomography-angiography.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondary endpoints include glaucomatic changes as measured by optical coherence tomography and differences in retinal nerve fiber layer thickness, endothelial cell thickness, mean deviation in perimetry, cup-disc ratio and foveal avascular zone.
