Group 1: Female patients with acute urinary tract infection

Age
18 Years to 45 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - Female gender, premenopausal - Symptomatic, community-acquired, uncomplicated urinary tract infection; defined according to the criteria of the current AWMF guideline (4) BEFORE antibiotic therapy. - Written informed consent to participate in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Evidence of more serious or other urogenital infection including fever, flank pain, renal pelvic palpitation, vaginal discharge, and vaginal pain. - Pregnancy - Diabetes mellitus and other relevant metabolic diseases - Kidney disease - Taking medications that affect the genitourinary tract - Immunosuppression

Differences in metabolome composition between patients with acute symptomatic UTI and healthy subjects.

MeasureTime frame
Difference in intra- and interindividual metabolome composition of the subjects under predefined preanalytical conditions compared to the preanalytical best practice protocol defined as gold standard
