Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria: 1.) Patient at least 18 years old 2.) Traumatic injury to the BO or BP within the last 12h. 3.) Absence of pre-existing conditions that are a contraindication to inpatient surgical procedure under general anesthesia. 4.) Consent to study participation possible.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria: 1.) Concomitant fracture of the affected limb. 2.) Open fractures at the affected joint. 3.) Extensive leathering/necrosis/injury/contamination of the BO or BP requiring extended surgical intervention. (BO: elbow joint; BP: knee joint). 4.) Previous surgical intervention on the affected joint. 5.) Dementia 6.) Alcohol abuse 7.) Patient younger than 18 years 8.) Ineligibility as judged by the study physician.
