Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The primary endpoint is a relevant increase in resilience as measured with the Resilience Scale immediately after the last group coaching session of participants who participated in at least 3 group coaching sessions.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Relevant increase in resilience measured with the resilience scale in the 2-month follow-up after the last coaching of participants who participated in at least 3 group coaching sessions. In addition, an association between coaching participation and resilience at the 4-month follow-up, youth's resources and health-related quality of life will be examined. Additional questions examined are: - Is such a coaching program accepted and used by adolescents with chronic illness? How often do the study participants attend coaching sessions? - What is crucial for the subjects' participation? (Improvement through reminder notifications/calls?) - What is the rejection rate with regard to study participation? Are coaching sessions being declined? What is the drop-out rate and what reasons are given? - Are the number and duration of group sessions sufficient to increase resilience? - Are socioeconomic and medical factors moderating/determining study participation among youth with chronic illness? - What are reasons for participation/non-participation? What do the adolescents like and dislike about the coaching? - What is acceptance of the coaching in terms of age and gender distribution? In addition, an exploratory analysis of the questionnaires on socioeconomic factors and the children's life circumstances (illness, family situation,) will be conducted. Here, possible socio-demographic and medical covariates as predictors/moderators of the use of the coaching offer will be analyzed in particular.
