Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Part 1 - Acceptance for internet-based intervention (Unified Theory of Acceptance an Use of Technology; UTAUT; Baumeister et al., 2014). - Observation of uptake (intervention started yes vs. no) and adherence (number of active training days). Part 2 - State self-esteem in the domains appearance, performance and social (State Self-Esteem Scale; SSES; Heatherton et al., 1991). - Severity of body dysmorphic symptoms (“Fragebogen Körperdysmorpher Symptome”; FKS; Buhlmann et al., 2009). The assessment of primary endpoints takes place at five different measurement time points (at baseline, after the laboratory experiment, at the beginning of the self-esteem intervention, after the first week of intervention, and at the end of the intervention). Self-esteem and severity of body dysmorphic symptoms are not assessed again after the laboratory experiment. For further sample characterization, we conducted clinical diagnostic interviews (BDDDM, BDD-Y-BOCS).

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Part 1 - Credibility and expectancy by use of Credibility and Expectancy questionnaire (CEQ) - Performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence and facilitating condition (Unified Theory of Acceptance an Use of Technology; UTAUT) Part 2 - Self-efficacy expectations (Allgemeine Selbstwirksamkeitskurzskala; ASKU) - Depressive symptoms by use of Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) - Body Image (Body Image State Scale; BISS) - Trait self-esteem (Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale; RSES)
