Interventions

Group 1: During an intensive care stay, 40 severely burned patients are examined for the presence of biomarkers using blood analyses.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age = 18 years, voluntary, written declaration of consent from the patient or legal representative, burns > 20% body surface area (BSA), sufficient knowledge of German, need for intensive care therapy

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Employees of the institution involved in conducting this study, participants who are unable to provide information for linguistic, psychological or somatic reasons and whose legal representatives do not consent; secondary: significant change in health

Correlation of Bio-ADM levels and 30-day mortality.

MeasureTime frame
- Correlation of plasma Bio-ADM concentration - Fluid volume in the first 72 hours - Catecholamine consumption within 7 days - Indication for renal replacement therapy - Development of acute lung injury - Use of extracorporeal lung support systems (ECMO) - Continuous monitoring of hemodynamics
