In addition to clinical behavioral observations, diagnostic criteria must be met in at least two of the following four neglect tests: letter cancellation test (Weintraub & Mesulam, 1987), Bells test (Gauthier et al., 1989), copying task (Johannsen & Karnath, 2004), and line bisection task (McIntosh et al., 2005).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with tumors or patients in whom scans (CT/MRI) showed no obvious lesions were excluded.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
- What: Improvement of neglect symptoms. - When: both groups twice before starting therapy and twice after completing vibration; the neck muscle vibration therapy group will receive a 6th assessment time point one month after completing therapy - How: Performance assessment via the neglect diagnostics: Letter Cancellation, Bells Cancellation, Copying Line Drawings, Line Bisection, and via measurement of activities of daily living via the Catherine Bergego Scale and the NET Neglect Test.
