Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Biological kinship, family members live in the same household, postpubertal developmental status of children, and children are of the same sex in each family.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Smoking, regular use of medications and drugs, hormonal contraceptives

1. to identify chemical family signatures in the body odour profiles of family members; 2. to analyse perceptual phenomena (body odour perception) within families; 3. to merge chemical and perceptual data.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
A better understanding of the chemical (and thus physiological) principles of olfactory kin recognition can help to better understand this olfactory kin recognition and become a starting point for interventions that strengthen family relationships.
