Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Vegetarian or vegan for at least 3 months

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Acute Infection Intake of immune suppressive drugs Pregnancy Younger than 18 years Drug or alcohol abuse BMI over 29

MeasureTime frame
Immune Response Leukocyte subpopulations and functions are measured before and after zinc supplementation. Leukocyten subpopulations are measured by flow cytometry and Leukocyten functions are measured by cytokine production and functional tests (cytotoxicity assay, proliferation, phagocytosis assay, burst assay etc.).

Interleukin-2 Production The measurements by ELISA are performed before and after zinc supplementation.
