Group 1: The study consists of two parts: (1) a systematic review, and (2) a qualitative interview study (IDIs). The systematic review focuses on the decision-making processes between GPs and patients

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Participants who recently visited their GP because of upper respiratory tract infections. Participants living in the Ems-Dollart region (Dutch provinces Friesland, Groningen, Overijssel, and Drenthe and from the German districts Emden, Aurich, Wittmund, Wilhelmshaven, Leer, Friesland, Wesermarsch, Ammerland, Delmenhorst, Cloppenburg, Vechta, Emsland, Grafschaft Bentheim, Osnabrück and Oldenburg)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Participants younger than 18 years, with psychological or psychiatric illness, hospitalised, and living outside the Ems-Dollart region will be excluded.
