Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: - Inpatient geriatric patients in the medical clinic suffering from chronic pruritus. - Capacity to consent: made dependent on medical assessment, including current geriatric assessment with emphasis on cognition (Mini-Mental-Status, Clock Test). - Planned return to the University Hospital after inpatient treatment - Accessibility of the University Hospital RWTH Aachen, Location Franziskus within a radius of 20 km (good accessibility for the geriatric patients should be guaranteed) - Willingness to come to the university outpatient clinic after 2 months to review the results - Ability to understand and follow the instructions of the study staff - Have signed an informed consent form - Ability to communicate adequately in German
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: - Do not have a signed informed consent form - unable to understand the nature, meaning, and implications of the study and therefore unable to consent. - Lack of capacity to understand and consent due to cognitive deficits and/or language barriers.

| - To determine the prevalence of CP in the unselected patient population of a university geriatric inpatient unit. - Assessment of comorbidities and medications with evaluation of their possible influence on the symptom pruritus. - Quantification of pruritus severity with impact on quality of life (measured by standardized questionnaires) and correlation with geriatric assessment of mobility, self-help ability, and quality of life. - Benefit on symptom severity, quality of life of the current guideline recommended basic therapy with rehydrating emollients after 2 months in these geriatric patients. | — |
