Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All adults who are able to give their consent with a few exception (see below).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: For both groups: serious cardiac disease like coronary artery disease, myocardial infarction, cardiac insufficiency, cardiac arrhythmia, valvular heart disease, endocarditis or myocarditis. For the F10.2 case group: duration of abstinence less than 4 weeks.

Systematic investigation of the interrelationship between alcohol consumption and cardiac autonomic function.

MeasureTime frame
- Verification or falsification of the presumed differences in HRV profiles between the above mentioned groups (F10.2 case/control). - Further analysis of heart rate dynamics depending on the extent of alcohol consumption in the control group and the duration of abstinence in the F10.2 group. - Investigation of the reversibility of the potential negative effects.
