Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Indication for surgical treatment of a degenerative spine disease • The patient is able to understand the nature, significance and scope of the clinical study in the context of patient information and to base the decision to participate in the study on this.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Age 80 years • Serious internal medicine/infectious disease • Severe psychiatric illness • Drug, alcohol or medication abuse

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Primary endpoint is pain rating measured by numerical rating scale (zero to ten) at discharge.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondary endpoints are: 1- Pain rating within 24 hours after surgery, 2- PAF, short-form McGill pain questionnaire, brief pain inventory, neuropathic pain scale at discharge 3- PAF, pain rating, shortform McGill pain questionnaire, brief pain inventory, neuropathic pain scale, hospital anxiety, depression scale and EQ-5D-5L three months after surgery.
