Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - written informed consent - Test (patients): hemophilia A or B Control (probands): no heritary bleeding disorders or medication that interfer with hemostasis

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - disease or condition (e.g., heart valve prothesis) that requires antibiotic prophylaxis for measures (assessment of periodontal probing parameters) causing transitory bacteriemia - additional bleeding disorder - intake of drugs that interfere with hemostasis (e.g., ASS)

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
bleeding on probing (BOP): approximatly 30 seconds after assessment of probing pocket depths using a Florida probe (6 sites per tooth: mesio-buccal, centro-buccal, disto-buccal, disto-oral, centro-oral, mesio-oral) assessment whether the respective sites bleed or not.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Gingival Bleeding Index (GBI): a periodontal probe (PCPUNC15, HuFriedy) is run along the gingival margin (maxilla buccal, maxilla oral, mandible buccal, mandible oral) and scored at 6 sites per tooth (mesio-buccal, centro-buccal, disto-buccal, disto-oral, centro-oral, mesio-oral) whether the respective sites bleed or not.
