Group 1: Patients being weaned from extreacorporeal membrane oxygenation

18 Years to 70 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation - Age > 18 years < 70 years - Deep sedation (RASS score -4/-5) - Arterial blood pressure measurement for clinical indication - Central venous catheter for clinical indication - ECMO blood flow of only 2 liters required for gas exchange

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Age 70 years - Lack of consent - Renal artery stenosis - Known liver disease (e.g. cirrhosis, chronic hepatitis) - Portal hypertension - Increased intra-abdominal pressure - Post-nephrectomy/splenectomy/liver surgery (excluding cholecystectomy) - Impaired renal function (eGFR < 60 ml/min/1.73m3)
