Group 1: Patients are recruited at the pediatric dentist office Zahnzauberwelt Göttingen. Patients between the ages of 6 and 8 years who have a medical indication for unilateral extraction of the firs

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: written consent of a guardian of the minor patient, verbal consent of the minor patient, medical indication for unilateral extraction of the first primary molar, patient does not require orthodontic treatment during the study period

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patient is undergoing orthodontic treatment or orthodontic treatment is indicated during the study period

MeasureTime frame
This longitudinal study based on the split-mouth design provides for data collection at three points in time when the patients attend regular check-up appointments at the dentist office. Due to their increased caries risk, the patients are subject to a strict recall concept independent of the study, which provides for dental check-ups at intervals of three months. - T1: approx. 1 week postoperative - T2: approx. 3 months postoperative - T3: approx. 6 months postoperative
