Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Included are patients who i) are treated in the intensive care and IMC wards of internal medicine and anesthesiology at UKSH, ii) have consented to research with their data or are treated by a legal guardian and iii) are treated by AT.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients are excluded if they have not yet obtained legal guardianship, are at high risk of dying in the immediate future, or are pregnant.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Primary outcome parameters are changes in blood gas analysis values with pO2, pCO2, pH, oxygenation index before and after treatment by respiratory therapists

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondary parameters are sO2, respiratory rate, heart rate, mod. Borg scale (0-10, 10=maximum effort) and the rate of adverse intervention-associated events.
