Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Capacity to consent Patients = 18 years with abdominal aortic aneurysm (max diameter > 3 cm). Patients = 18 years of age with dilated aorta (precursors of AAA, max diameter 2-3 cm) Subjects with demonstrably undilated aorta (sonographic or MR-graphic or CT-graphic evidence). For all patients and subjects: Informed consent for the study: "Establishment of a human vascular biomaterial bank (VBBH) at the Department of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Surgery at Heidelberg University Hospital" (professional advice of 23.09.2013 and subsequent amendment of 18.09.2020 to S-301/2013).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Refusal or lack of consent of the donor to participate in the above mentioned VBBH tissue bank study. Lack of consent of the donor for the use of his tissue for research purposes Patients permanently incapable of giving consent Pregnant and breastfeeding women Patients/proband with malignant or chronic inflammatory disease
