Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • Sufficient understanding of the German language

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Control group + patient group: - High blood pressure - Medication affecting the autonomic nervous system only patient group - Substance addiction - Autism - Psychoses - Schizophrenia only control group: - Psychiatric and neurological (pre)diseases - Current or past outpatient, semi-inpatient or full-time inpatient psychiatric or psychotherapeutic treatment - Taking psychotropic drugs

Interoceptive ability of participants with non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) is examined in comparison to a healthy control group. Furthermore, the interoceptive ability of participants with NSSI will be determined depending on arousal and mindfulness and once again compared to a healthy control group.	—

Possible comorbidities and other influencing factors should be analyzed on the basis of the psychometric tests. Questionnaires and clinical interview: • Basic data interview on data relevant to the study such as age/date of birth, nationality, weight, height, type of school, treatment setting, duration of illness, previous and current medication • Brief Symptom Inventory – German version, review (BSI) (Franke, 2000) • Beck anxiety inventory (BAI) (Margraf & Ehlers, 2007) • Beck Depression Inventory – Revision (BDI-II) (Beck et al., 2006) • German Version of the Perth Alexithymia Questionnaire adapted for Children (PAQ) (Jarvers et al., 2021) • Emotion Reactivity Scale (ERS) (Original version: Nock et al., 2008; German version: Götz & Kandsperger, 2020) • Self injurious thoughts and behaviors interview (SITBI-G – short form) (Plener, 2012) • Self-Compassion-Scale (SCS-D) (Hupfeld & Ruffieux, 2011) • Heidelberg Dissociation Inventory (HDI) (Brunner et al., 1999) • Body Perception Questionnaire (BPQ) (Porges, 2015) • Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ) (Abler & Kessler, 2009) • Cognitive, Affective, and Somatic Empathy Scales – German version (CASES-G) (Schleicher et al., 2021) Additional questions: • Triggerability of emotional distress in subjects with non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) compared to a healthy control group • Ability to regulate subjects with NSSI after emotional arousal through a mindfulness exercise	—
