Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - Pregnant first-time and second-time mothers in the last trimester of pregnancy who are aiming for a vaginal birth - Sufficient German language skills to participate in the questionnaire survey - Written informed consent to participate in the study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Pregnant women who will deliver by planned cesarean section for medical or personal reasons - Women with multiple pregnancies - Serious concomitant diseases of the mother (according to the assessment of the investigator) - Known serious medical conditions of the child that require transfer of the child to the pediatric ward - Diagnosed generalized anxiety disorder or other serious psychic alteration of the woman. - Lack of mental, physical or linguistic capacity of the woman to participate in the questionnaire survey

MeasureTime frame
- Exploration of potential differences in birth expectancy (among other things including fear of childbrith ) and birth experience due to the influence of previous experience in second-time mothers in view of their first childbirth -Evaluation on the relationship between prepartum birth expectancy and postpartum birth experience (controlling for birth outcome variables) with a focus on prenatal stress and mother-infant attachment - Evaluation of birth experience, bonding, and perceived stress level with standardized, multidimensional questionnaires immediately after birth, and change measured 6 weeks and 6 months later - Relationship of mental health (in terms of anxiety, stress, and depressive symptomatology) to birth experience and mother-infant bonding. The study includes 4 measurement time points: Recruitment and baseline survey in the last trimester, approximately 24h, 6 weeks and 6 months postpartum. The following questionnaires will be used: FOBS ,Birth Satisfaction CEQ, Stress using PSS-10, Depression Scale EPDS, IES, Pregnancy Related Anxiety PRAQ-R2, Self-efficacy ASKU, Pre- and Postnatal Attachment MAAS & PBQ, BFI-10, Visual Analogue Scales. In addition, the midwife attending the birth and the physician are interviewed immediately after the birth using a self-prepared short questionnaire
