Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - Ischemic or hemorrhagic hemispheric stroke (confirmed by imaging). - Early subacute phase (<= 3 month post stroke) at inclusion - sufficient head control and able to sit - Sufficient vigilance for study participation - Patient should be able to understand the study - with appropriate explanation - and must be able to provide consent. If necessary, caregivers can be consulted to consent for the patient. Additional criteria for Neglect subgroups: Presence of visuospatial neglect

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - previous stroke -Patient with stroke in the brain stem with vestibulo-ocular symptoms - Epilepsy - Severe cognitive deficits - Severe traumatic brain injury, recent head surgery, craniectomy, metal implant in brain - Psychotropic medications, GABAergic preparations (L-DOPA, SSRI and antiepileptic drugs due to non-epileptic indication are allowed at a constant dose) - Pregnancy - History of severe alcoholism or substance abuse, severe psychiatric illness such as depression, psychosis (if not in remission)
