Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Individuals with a minimum age of 18 who agree to voluntary study participation and have written informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Excluded from the study are persons with diseases that influence the metabolism (e.g. hyper-/hypothyroidism, diabetes mellitus) under the condition that they cannot be adjusted with medication. Furthermore, persons with orthopedic diseases are excluded if they have an impairment of normal mobility (e.g. knee injury, bone fractures). Also excluded are persons with cardiovascular diseases that would make exercise intervention difficult (heart failure, angina pectoris). Chronic or other diseases are excluded if they complicate the planned exercise interventions or exclude the planned food intake (diabetes mellitus, gout). Further exclusion criteria are pregnancy and alcohol or drug abuse.
Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Glucose values at time points 0, 30, 60, 90 and 120 of the pure sitting time. Determination by means of measurement from capillary blood. Evaluation by calculation of the minima and maxima, as well as calculation of the area under the curve (AUC). | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) measurement of oxygen saturation (continuous), cognitive performance tests (Stroop color and word interference (executive functions) after 60 and 120 minutes of sitting time only). Determination of general well-being with scales according to Borg. | — |
