Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Prolonged weaning (3 failed spontaneous breathing sessions) Fear of weaning

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Low compliance for the intervention Hearing loss High sedation medication Too low cognitive attention

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Anxiety and well-being as measured by the Faces Anxiety Scale and the Self Assessment Manikin, once before the spontaneous breathing attempt and once after the spontaneous breathing attempt

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Physiological measures (blood oxygen level, heart rate, breathing rate) during spontaneous breathing as measured in a video of the patient monitor during the weaning session
