Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Chronic back pain for at least 3 months and up to a maximum of 5 years, NRS score = 4/10, adequate vision, adequate speech comprehension, written informed consent
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Specific back pain, neurological disease, other pain, mental illness, serious internal disease, infectious disease, underlying malignancy, metabolic disease, endocrinological disease, pregnancy, glasses not fitting under the HMD, patient's inability to give informed consent

| Feasibility of the new intervention approach (adherence & side effects): We consider it as a success if 80% of patients undergo the VR program with no severe side effects (such as injuries caused by falls) and if additionally = 20% of patients experience side effects in the form of cyber sickness.
