Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - Physician-diagnosed COPD - Hospitalisation with a primary diagnosis of an acute exacerbation of COPD, max. 72h prior to inclusion or: - Hospitalisation due to primary diagnosis of pneumonia with concurrent diagnosis of an acute exacerbation of COPD , max. 72h prior to inclusion - Min. 10 Pack years - Written informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Life expectancy < 6 months - Patients with a palliative treatment goal - High likelihood of lethal outcome within 72h

Change in Clinical COPD Questionnaire (CCQ) scores 31.12.2024

- Length of hospitalisation - Complications during hospitalisation (e.g. admission to intensive care, need for increased respiratory support) - Differences in clinical and laboratory parameters between patients responding to treatment vs. those who do not - Readmission rates within 30 days - Newly required or increased need for longterm supplemental oxygen - Change in spirometry results pre / post exacerbation (90 ± 7 days after hospital admission) - Changes in CAT scores and mMRC scores between the visit dates - Change in maintenance therapy
