Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients who are in a stable psychiatric condition and transient change of stimulation is feasible 2. Patient gives written informed consent for participation 3. Patients are willing to and can tolerate transient mild stimulation induced double vision (not painful) 4. Compliance to participate in the study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Congenital strabismus 2. Any acquired eye movement disorder. 3. Orbital diseases 4. Any previous ocular surgery 5. Visual acuity in any eye < 0.3 6. High myopia 7. Acute eye condition (glaucome, infection) 8. Patient is incapable to follow and perform the task instructions 9. No written consent available

Objectives (What): - To achieve a detailed characterization of oculomotor responses in Deep Brain Stimulation of the ventral mesencephalic tegmentum - to achieve a rigid anatomical description of stimulation effects with respect to a stochastic brain space (MNI, Montreal Neurological Institute Brain) - including high resolution MRI and DTI (tractography) and - analysis of the oculomotor response to DBS. - to understand if complex (cyclovertical) oculomotor effects (17) can be elicited and how they are related to local anatomy and stimulation settings in TRD and TROCD. When: In a 4-hour out-patient type test session How: Different stimulation settings are activated and accompanied by a detailed eye examination. During the session, eye alignment is recorded during different tested stimulation settings in the three spatial planes (horizontal / vertical / torsional) using a tangent screen and binocular red-green glasses ("Harms wall" examination). The target variables are the deviations from the respective neutral position in the solid angle. The deviations in space as well as the rotation are evaluated together with the required current strength (amplitude) as well as the position of the electrode contact.
