Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Gingival Bleeding Index: The bleeding of the marginal gingiva is assessed by gently sliding the periodontal probe along the sulcus. The GBI is measured at six sites per tooth (mesiobuccal, buccal, distobuccal, distooral, oral, and mesiooral). If bleeding occurs after approximately 20 seconds, the bleeding point is marked on the recording form. The ratio (%) of bleeding areas to the total number of tooth surfaces represents the percentage GBI value. The assessment of GBI should always be done before measuring probing depths.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Probing pocket depth Bleeding on probing Plaque Index OHIP (Oral Health Impact Profile) Awareness periodontitis
