Conditions

The purpose of this study is to investigate whether measurable changes in unilateral neck pain can be detected on the affected side in terms of biomechanical tissue properties, pressure shear as well as passive mobility. For this purpose, 20 patients with neck pain in which one side of the body (right/left) is more clearly affected than the other will be examined. Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with neck pain, in which one side of the neck (right/left) is affected more severely than the other side

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Previous injuries and surgeries in the neck region

Primary

MeasureTime frame
a) Myofascial stiffness and elasticity (measured with the IndentoPro device) in the region of the upper trapezius muscle. b) Passive range-of-motion (ROM) mobility in lateral flexion as well as rotation of the cervical spine (measured with EasyAngle). These examination are conducted only once per patient (since no therapeutic intervention is included in this study).
