Conditions

Participants are patients from forensic psychiatry (i.e. mentally ill offenders) and patients with dementia, as well as their relatives and researchers from both fields.

Interventions

Group 1: No intervention will be performed. A network structure will be established and evaluated.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: For people with lived experiences (patients, relatives or other affected persons): - No moderate or severe dementia or comparable neurodegenerative diseases. - Able to give informed and independent consent - Direct or indirect experience with a specific neurodegenerative and/or mental illness or addiction problem and related to the commission of a criminal offence that led to placement in a forensic psychiatric ward - Interest in participatory research For professional experts : - Professors, (senior) physicians, psychologists, peer support workers, scientists working in the fields of dementia/forensics/neurodegenerative diseases - Experience in the field of patient involvement/participatory research not mandatory

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: For people with lived experiences (patients, relatives or other affected persons): - Moderate or severe dementia and comparable neurodegenerative diseases - Younger than 18 years of age - No direct or indirect experience with a specific neurodegenerative and/or mental illness or an addiction problem and, in connection therewith, the commission of a criminal offence which led to placement in a forensic psychiatric ward. - Unable to give informed and independent consent For professional experts : - Professors, (senior) physicians, psychologists, peer support workers, scientists not working in the fields of dementia/forensics/neurodegenerative diseases
