Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Work in a specialty department with at least 50 electronically recorded falls per examination year. Certified nurses.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Working in a specialty department with fewer than 50 electronically recorded falls per examination year. Assistance professions.

Measure	Time frame
Quantitative descriptive-statistical analysis of the fall protocols from 2017 to 2019. The data recorded in connection with falls at the SALK are analyzed descriptively, i.e., the frequencies, percentages and position measures (means, medians) are presented in tabular form. In addition, correlations between variables are examined using methods of interference statistics (Spearman correlation). This first part of the study will take place between January and February 2023 and is designed to provide an inference of response behavior, such as items that were not completed or inconsistencies within a fall protocol.	—

Qualitative assessment of nurses on the use of electronic fall assessment in the Salzburg University Clinic. The data are analyzed using qualitative content analysis according to Kuckartz. At the end, the quantitative and qualitative results are presented in a joint display in order to do justice to the chosen sequential mixed-methods design. The second part of this study will take place between February and March and will identify any problem areas in the use of the falls protocol and allow nurses to make suggestions for improving the current version.	—
