Conditions

Influence of therapeutic local anesthesia (TLA) on the VNS

Interventions

Group 1: Application of 100-300 mg procaine ad 250 ml 0.9% NaCl over 60 minutes. The first recording of the time- and frequency-dependent HRV parameters was done before the application over 5 minutes

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The primary endpoint of the study is to assess the influence of the intravenously applied short-acting local anesthetic procaine on the VNS using HRV.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
The secondary endpoint of the study is to determine the clinical applicability of HRV as a tool to detect the systemic effects of procaine.
