Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Total hip arthroplasty via the direct anterior approach body mass index >= 30 kg/m^2

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Former surgery at surgical site Preexisting skin lesions at surgical site Preexisting nerve lesions of the respective leg

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Primary outcome is revision surgery due to surgical site infection or impaired wound healing within 90 days after surgery

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondary outcomes are length of stay and recorded nerve lesions, pain intensity, analgesic intake and mobility on the first days after surgery until discharge from hospital
