Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. anatomical lung resection for malignant disease (lobectomy, bilobectomy, segmentectomy) 2. scheduled treatment for 1) at the Department for Thoracic Surgery at the Medical Center-University of Freiburg within 1 year after beginning of the trial
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. extended resection (including chest wall, vascular or bronchial sleeve, intrapericardial resection, resection of adjacent organs) 2. pneumonectomy 3. non-anatomic resections 4. unplanned conversion to open surgery 5. known mental disorder / psychiatric condition 6. substance abuse 7. chronic pain syndrome 8. palliative resections
