Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Depression diagnosis (F32.0, F32.1, F33.0, F33.1); confirmation of diagnosis by clinical telephone interview (Mini-DIPS) Full legal capacity, residence in Germany and sufficient knowledge of German, access to own smartphone and internet, willingness as well as physical and mental ability to use the app regularly and to complete the questionnaires.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: ongoing or planned psychotherapy current or planned inpatient treatment for mental illness changes in antidepressant medication in the last 4 weeks suicidality (PHQ-9 item 9 >0) History of bipolar disorder, psychotic disorder, or substance use disorder or suspected substance use disorder Use of a comparable digital app in the last 12 months
