Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: a) three-year trained and/or studied (vocational school and/or university), state-certified nursing professionals b) at the time of the survey, active work in direct patient care in a hospital in Germany c) German language skills that are sufficient for the potential participants to understand both the study informations and explanation letter and the questionnaire content/questions from the interview guide. d) Ability to give informed consent: Written consent to participation

| Prevalence of Moral Distress and Moral Injury Sub-study I: The primary endpoint is the prevalence of "Moral Injury" and "Moral Distress" among nurses in German acute hospitals. Both phenomena will be assessed simultaneously using validated instruments (G-MISS HP; German version of the Moral Distress Scale). Sub-study II: Qualitative study design. The aim is to understand and explore possible correlations between moral distress and moral injury from the perspective of those affected, together with possible predictors of the occurrence of moral distress and moral injury based on the results of sub-study I. | — |
