Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1) Dyad of family carer and person diagnosed with dementia living in the home (self or proxy report). (2) The family caregiver is the primary caregiver of the person with dementia and is familiar with the person's daily life, (3) Sufficient visual and hearing abilities of the person with dementia and the family caregiver, (4) Sufficient language skills of the person with dementia and the family caregiver, (5) Consent by the person with dementia and the family caregiver or presence of consent by the legal representative of the person with dementia and the family caregiver.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) Lack of capacity based on physical or psychological condition (e.g. obvious severe mental illness or severe physical limitation).

| We pragmatically validate the diagnosis of dementia and to make an assessment of severity (Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCa)). Data on Quality of Life-Alzheimer's Disease (QoL-AD), psychological well-being (5-Item Wellbeing Index of the WHO (WHO-5)), and neuropsychiatric symptoms (Neuropsychiatric Inventory-Questionnaire (NPI-Q)) are also collected. Qualitative data will be collected on the implementation of the MBI in the home, problems in handling the study materials, impressions of the family carers and reactions of the person with dementia will be collected to supplement quantitative data. | — |
