Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Declaration of consent by the patient or the legal guardian Patients who are analgosedated and mechanically ventilated Presence of a central venous line and an arterial line Hemodynamic stability (mean arterial pressure = 65 mmHg, cardiac output = 4.5 liters/minute/m² body surface area) Clinical indication to performf a computed tomography of the chest

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Age = 18 years Congenital cardiac malformation, severe valve dysfunction or severe arrhythmia Life expectancy less than 24 hours Previous operations on the organs under investigation
